Questions, answered.

What Moodfile is, how your agent reads it, where your references live, and what it costs.

The app

What is Moodfile?

A Mac app that keeps the UI you love: screenshots, links and X posts. It tags each one, writes your style down in MOODFILE.md, and hands both to your coding agent over MCP, so the agent builds in your style instead of the AI default.

Is it a component library?

No. Moodfile doesn't ship components. It keeps your references and describes your style, so your agent can use the components you already have and still make them look like yours.

What can I save?

A region of your screen with ⌥⇧1, or whatever is on your clipboard with ⌥⇧2: an image, a link, or a link to an X post. You can also drag images in, and change the shortcuts in Settings. For links it reads the page's real fonts, sizes and spacing too, and every reference keeps its source.

What does it tag?

The kind of screen, its colours, fonts, layout, and the one move worth stealing. Tagging happens in the background while you keep working.

What is MOODFILE.md?

Your style, written down in plain Markdown from your references: the ground, the type, the colours, and what to avoid. Linked projects get a copy, and CLAUDE.md points to it, so agents that read files follow it too.

Do I need a Mac?

To save references, yes. Moodfile is a native Mac app. The agents you connect can run anywhere, including in the cloud.

Your agent

Which agents does it work with?

Anything that supports MCP, including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf and Zed. For tools that read files instead, export MOODFILE.md or a Cursor rule into the project.

What can my agent do over MCP?

Search your references, open one by its ID, list your tags, and read your whole MOODFILE.md. It asks for what fits the screen it's building, so a pricing page gets your pricing references.

Does it work with cloud agents?

Yes. Your MCP connection is private to your account and works from anywhere, so cloud agents can use your references too.

Does it really change what the agent builds?

See for yourself. The examples page has two real Claude Code runs per screen with the same prompt and model, one with Moodfile and one without, and links the raw HTML each run wrote.

Privacy

Where are my references stored?

In a private cloud library tied to your account, which is how it syncs across your Macs and how your agents reach it. Only you and the agents you connect can read it. Each image is sent to a vision model once so it can be tagged.

What do you do with my email?

We use it only for Moodfile updates and your place in line, and every email has an unsubscribe link. The privacy page has the details.

Waitlist and pricing

When can I use it?

Founding members get the beta first, in mid-November. Then the waitlist gets in a batch at a time, from the front of the line. Every friend who joins with your invite link moves you up 25 places, and 3 friends puts you in the first batch. You'll get one email when your spot opens.

How much will it cost?

Solo is $9 a month for one person and one Mac. Pro is $19 a month with unlimited references. Studio, for teams of up to 5, is $49 a month and comes after launch. Founding members get Pro for $9 a month for as long as they stay.

Can I get my $9 back?

Yes. Any time before launch, reply to your Stripe receipt and you'll get a full refund.
